Pink Saturday

Our kids all live in the Kansas City, Kansas area, so of course all the parties of any kind are there. That’s fine with us, since there’s much more to do there. Our daughter-in-law’s baby shower was held at Girlfriends! Lets do lunch! in the town of Independence, Missouri, and it was a fun time. The building is in an old part of town, surrounded by old buildings and antique shops (yeah!). The girls had fun playing dress up in the play room.

Personalities tended to be shown in many different ways….

I tend to have more than one though….

Maybe more than two…..

The many beautiful gifts were opened. You can see the great decorations on the walls behind Carla, anything and everything pink and girly. Old prom dresses, photos, shoes, whatever you could possible think of. They also had a Karaoke machine and everyone was encouraged to get up and perform!

Mom’s quilt was one of the hits of the party; The blocks were made by my Grandma Alley, and pieced and quilted by my Mom. It’s a prayer quilt, having had many prayers said over it during the process, and each of us at the shower signed our name and said a prayer, so Mom could quilt the signature in the blanket----- after she quit celebrating that is!

I make an afghan for each of my grandchildren, and DIL chose a variegated yarn in pink, blue, white, and lavender baby yarn.

At the end, we had a lunch of taco salad and cheese cake, with tea or coffee. We had a great time, and someday we will tell Greta how her Mom, Aunts, Grandma’s and Great Grandma all had a wonderful time in anticipation of her coming in to the world.
Thanks again to http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/ for hosting a perfect Pink Saturday!!!
Get your hat out of storage and join us for a great Pink Saturday!!!
