Pink Saturday - Praying Ladies

This is a special Pink Saturday for me. My Pink Praying Ladies are being featured on Susan's blog, found at http://myplacetoyours.blogspot.com/. She has a pink lady too, and when I saw it a couple of weeks back, I told her I had a set also. I have 3, I guess that's a set.....Hmmm...never thought of it that way.....anyway.... here's my 3. When I was very young, there were just my sister and I. Baby brother was born MANY years later. Anyway, for Mother's day our family gave these to Grandma Standley as a gift. You know, one for each of us girls. Then, later that year on her birthday, she received the scouring pad holder to match. My grandma however, wouldn't think of actually using them, and they stayed put away. I remember visiting her and looking at them, wishing I could play with them. Years later when it was time to divide up the few things we were given, I crossed my fingers and prayed that I'd get the Pink Ladies in the drawing - and I DID!!!

The two little ones are salt and pepper. Can you see what they say on the front?

As you can see, the tall one is for a scouring pad. Remember what that is?

This is a close up of the front of the big one.

This is a close up of the front of the little ones.

This one is fuzzy because I shook the camera, but this is the back of the little ones.
Here's the back of the large one.

I will show you the ladies one more time, so you don't have to scroll back up. Don't you just LOVE THEM?????

I hope everyone takes a minute to go visit Susan, and leave her a comment telling her that I sent you! She can be found at http://myplacetoyours.blogspot.com/ , or at her Etsy Shop http://myplacetoyours.etsy.com/

Thrifty Thursday/Vintage Thingie Thursday

If you saw my Pink Saturday post last week, then you've seen these. I got them at an auction last week, actually with another dish that has a small chip in it - I have $2.50. They are in perfect condition, and were my cousin's great grandma's, dating to the 1930's. Love them!

Join everyone as we rush over the Thrifty Thursday and Vintage Thingie Thursday at the below addresses. Thanks for leaving a comment! Sandi

Pink Saturday, September 25, 2010

I got a new plate at an auction on Wednesday night. Sorry the photo isn't really very good. I just set the plate on a chair and took the photo. It's a piece of china from the 1930's. It belonged to a relative's relative. You know, like my cousins great grandma. Anyway, I think it's so pretty, and of course I love the roses. There was also a bowl with it, They aren't a pair, but both pretty. Enjoy! And have a great Pink Saturday!

Thanks to Beverly for hosting Pink Saturday - it's getting to be quite the obsession for many people!

Tablescape Thursday just a "fall" away!

Finally, I have time to start on my fall stuff. I've been SO lazy lately, and thanks to all who put me on their prayer list last week. Things are better, and I'm sure it had a lot to do with the extra "word" you put in for me.

Of course, Grandma's silverware make their appearance! And my cream colored lace tablecloth. I seldom use it without an underlay, but seemed like a good idea this time.

I received this centerpiece as a gift years ago - filled with live flowers. I loved it so much, I went and found fake flowers that were similar. So easy!

I'm also using my old brown ironstone for the dinner plate, and an antique white plate for salad.

The cream colored napkins were given to my by my Aunt a couple of months ago as she was cleaning out to have an auction. The leaf napkin rings were purchased at closeout in Walmart last fall. That's when I was living in a town that had a Walmart. I was so spoiled! I sure miss that- but not the traveling job....

The chargers are gold, but seem more copper colored when I put them with gold, so they work great for fall. DD#2's family gave them to me for Christmas last year. There's 8 of them, but I'm only using 4 today.

The goblets were purchased at a garage sale 6/$3.00. They are some of my favorites.

The little fuzzy pumpkins were purchased a Walmart clearance last year for $1.00 for the box of 6.
I purchased the candlestix for $3.00 at a garage sale, and painted them a creamy white. I wasn't too sure about using them with crystal glasses, but I like the combination of the two. The glasses just bring a little "class" to the setting.

I have so much natural light, that sometimes it's a challenge to get the photos right.

White Wednesday

Thought I'd share more of my white mums with you. I love how dainty they are. I planted them a year ago in the spring, and they sure have done well.
OMG this is too funny! Everyone of my photos turned without me doing it on purpose, so I guess you will have to lay down to see them! Ha! Sorry bout that, I wonder what made it do that? Oh well. Come on over to the rest of the White Wednesday posts, hopefully they had better luck than I did! http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/

Mosaic Monday

This time of year, the natural colors of the earth are breathtaking. Take time to stop, close your eyes and give thanks for the beauty of the earth. Sandi

Oh yeah, and don't forget to stop over at http://dearlittleredhouse.blogspot.com/ to see more mosaics! Whew! I almost forgot! :)

Pink Saturday

Just sharing one of my favorite gerber daisy's that I've photographed. I'm not listed in Pink Saturday, cause I didn't think I'd have time, but I'm making time, cause I need to do something for me today. It's a long story, a very long story. Please put me on your prayer list, okay? Sandi
