Tablescape Thursday

Welcome to my version of Tablescape Thursday.

Simply done for little to no cost.

This week, once again I have roses. No, don't feel sorry for me, these were for my last day at work - again. You will have to read my blog on that if you want the details. I was going to go shop for flowers again at Walmart, but when I had been given these gorgeous yellow roses with red tips, the wheels began to turn. I brought out my milk glass, grape dishes and drinking glasses, which were given to me by my Mom. Trying to keep in the red/yellow theme was hard for me because I don't have much red in my home. But! I got to digging in my linen drawer and found this antique table cloth, purchased at an auction. I'm the person at the auction that when the auctioneer can't get a bid, he says "Sandi! Will you give me a dollar for this box?" And, as usual, I say yes! I have gotten some interesting items that way, but it's always fun. Especially if it has linens or fabric in it. So, this particular tablecloth probably has an interesting background, I just don't know what it is!. I do know it has no stains or holes in it, just a few spots of rust in one small area that if I took the time could probably be soaked out with lemon juice. The silverware is my Dollar General silverware I had in my apartment last year. I think my red cloth napkins would have added a lot to this, but they are packed away. The votives are from Partylite. I thought it was neat when I lit the candles that you could see the red candle, yellow flame and white votive, completely going with the red/yellow/white theme. Thanks to Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ for hosting another wonderful Tablescape Thursday! I'm having so much fun!

  6. Pretty tablecloth. Love vintage linens. And the roses -- oh, how pretty! When there is nothing on the garden I splurge on WM flowers -- they're pretty good for the price.

  11. Bet that tablecloth was inspired years ago from the colors of those roses. I love vintage linen for my table. Years ago ladies had HOPE chests and they always had a tablecloth in the chest. Great table.
