Tablescape Thursday/Thrifty Thursday

I've been so excited about your visit for my 4th of July celebration lunch! Preparations have been made, with a lot of fun thrown in.
My DH shinnied up this 60' pole to hang the flag - just for our luncheon....
I called and got the butler to come over to help out..... He's very quiet and polite. Will just stand in the corner, if we want.....
I decorated the kitchen.
Went to the garden to pick some red flowers for a center piece.
I got out the blue spotted glasses and star shaped dish that I use for a candleholder...
Of course put these awesome plates on the right table cover and they just pop!
The dishes were quite a thrifty bargain at Freda's Flea Market for $12.00 for a place setting for , complete with 14" dinner plates! They are definitely NOT the ones to use if you are on a diet! Ha! Hope you don't mind, but we will just have a salad and light drink for lunch today. We have a lot of celebrating to do with America's birthday and all!
Oops! What a bad hostess I am, your glass is almost empty! Another strawberry marguerita coming up!
We're ending with dessert, something new out of the freezer. They are new singles by Edwards (?) and because it's America's birthday, how about an old fashioned American desert? Goes from freezer to table in 45 seconds, its apple crisp with ice cream on top!

Well, the double post was fun, follow each of those gracious hosts for more fun at the below blogs:

  5. Love your flag plates. What fun. I also love the salad. I need to go grocery shopping and the cucumbers and bell peppers look just delish.

Interesting dessert. I'll have to check that out.
