Three or More Tuesday

This week, it's the world of three or more - butterfly photos. I only have 3 right now, but I'm sure that as time goes on, there will be more! Enjoy!
This is the most recent photo of the three, it was out on our squash plant, and DH came and gout me to take the photo.

This photo was taken at the lake, my Grandson looked out the window of the cabin, and it was on the tree outside. I went out and caught a few photos.

This one hangs above DD#2's bed in her bedroom here at home.

This photo was taken at our neighbor's at the lake a couple of years ago. I have had it enlarged and gave it away several times.

Thanks for joining me as I trip over to see the rest of the Three or More posts. I'll be waiting for you at:

Three or more Tuesday

I have three or MORE aprons. I love the look, colors, textures and thought of work that goes in to vintage aprons. In the photo above, they even provide a rainbow of colors to decorate, cover, and protect your clothes. I'm pretty much hooked on vintage fabrics of any kind and use them to decorate when and wherever I can.

Maude is all prettied up for the rest of the summer, with her black and white fabric with red roses, shown above in her apron and her scarf. She holds court over our supper table every night, in our sunroom.
Maude will be changing her attire, according to the season, so be sure and follow my blog to see more of her!I hope everyone has a wonderful week, and many thanks for stopping by to visit and leave a comment PLEASE!!!!

Three or More Tuesday

I've shown many of my vintage table cloths with tablescapes, etc., but took the time to just take some photos of the cloths themselves.
They are all beautiful in their own way. Some are hand stiched, some are fringed, but one thing they all have in common are that they are loved by ME! Have a wonderful 3 or more Tuesday, and join the others at :

http://gypsycorner.blogspot.com and have a wonderful week!

Three of more Tuesday

Our cabin at the lake is a place we got to relax and have fun. That is why when I chose how to decorate I chose relaxing and fun. We have had the lot with a different cabin on it since 1982, and almost 20 years ago put in the cabin we have now. Our other cabin was much smaller. In the kitchen, the was this cow that I had hanging above the kitchen stove. Now she has a special home on the top of a quilt rack, hanging on the wall. I have over 200 cows scattered throughout the cabin now, but I promise not to show them all! There's the cow and barn tea set, with salt and pepper to the right, and planter pot filled with parade beads on the left. There are stuffed cows everywhere, especially in the guest bedroom. I have this "cow" popcorn tin, and a cow bell that I found at an auction. You can't have cows without having sunflowers. This sits on the bedside table in the guest bedroom.

The beverage set was brought home from Cabo, via carry on luggage, with DH carrying the pitcher and me carrying the glasses. They made it - unscathed! So, I obviously have three or more cows, vignette's with cows in them at my cabin at the lake! Thanks for hanging out with us at the cabin, come back when you can stay longer! Three or More Tuesday

My post for this week is my dress forms/dress displays in my house. I'll introduce Maude, she was given to me by my Mom. I had asked Mom to look for an old dress form several years ago and she got me one of the ones below at an antique store for a little bit of change. When she later got to thinking about it, she remembered that she had this one and was willing to give it to me, just to get rid of it. I brought it upstairs, put on one of my many vintage aprons, one of my many vintage scarves, and set her in the sunroom/dining area. I've had so many comments on it, some think it's crazy, some think it's cool. Read on....Below you will see two baby nighties. The one of the left was my Dad's who was born in the 30's and the one of the right was mine. They were both made by hand, buttons holes and all.
Last, but not least, is my Sr. Prom dress, circa 1972 when long dresses were so NOT IN STYLE! Hanging from the side is my date's matching neck tie (later to become DH!). Below is a dress I wore when I was a little girl. By the way all you ORGANZA LOVERS, it's the big O!

As you see, I must be a trendsetter because I posted Maude in May, and this photo recently came out in Country Living Magazine.

Three or More Tuesday

My three or more this week, is dolls. I have more than this, but I've kinda hit the highlights. the first one below is Princess Di in the white dress that has pearls on it. It's from one of the collectible places, don't remember which one, but I had to make payments on it - so it's kinda expensive. One of the highlights I've had in the past 10 years was to drive to the Precious Moments Chapel in Missouri and see the Princess Di dress collection that was there. The actual dress that is on the doll below was there, and I almost cried!

These Phantom of the Opera dolls are from the same place as the Princess Di, you'd think a person spends that kind of money on a doll, they'd at least remember where....hmmm.....

The doll below was my Grandma Alleys and you've probably seen her on my post before. She is wearing one of my Easter dresses from when I was a litle girl.

The doll below was one that Santa gve me when I was little. The doll actually came with her own doll, and my sister got it. We got look alike clothes, and beds, and blankets. All of which I still have.
The last two shown are from the same company as the others, now I'm getting curious myself. They are both angel dolls, and one of them is named Angela. I bought it because it's my daughter's name. I also have an Emily doll, but didn't take her photo, I don't know why......
I love the blue eyes on these two, because all of our family have blue eyes.

I love my dolls, each and every one has such a special place in my world!

Three or More Tuesday

For Three or More Tuesday, I've chosen to show you some of my quilts. I've tried quilting, and I'm not good at it. I can't see well enough to make the stitches as small as I want, and I'm too picky to do them any other way. I have numerous quilts and thought I'd show you a few.
I found these squares already made up, in some of my Grandma's stuff. I believe it is a modified dresden plate, and might be one that grandma made up on her own. Each piece was sewn together by hand. I began with the squares and went from there.

Here's the whole quilt. I put it together and paid someone else to quilt it. I had a hard time trying to decide what colors to use. The orange is SO bright, and I am SO not an orange fan, but I used the green and orange borders, with a pale peach to tone down the squares. I love the way it turned out.
This quilt rack holds my red/navy snowman quilt purchased from Penneys on clearance a few years back, the yellow double wedding ring quilt made by my Grandma Alley for our wedding gift in 1972, the small one on the left front is my son's baby quilt also made by my Grandma Alley, and the front one on the right is my baby quilt ALSO made by Grandma Alley.

And my double knit quilt made by my mother in law. You know how double knit NEVER wears out!!!
And last, but not least there is my t-shirt quilt that was my Metamorphosis Monday post this week.

Three or More Tuesday

I’m showing you today one of my many and I do mean MANY collections. I am not so crazy over it these days, but have many things that are Princess Di Collectables. I got these plates through the Bradford Exchange and there are 12 of them in the set. I got one a month for a year, and they are numbered, limited edition. I keep them in the basement on the VERY top of the entertainment wall, so hopefully the grandson’s won’t ever break one. I have a lot of other items that are Princess Di things also, but this week is the plates. Enjoy, and thanks to http://gypsycorner.blogspot.com/ for hosting us today for Two or More!
