My Vintage Thingie is our antique icebox. Last week I showed my hoosier cabinet, and this sits next to it. When we got it, it had been sitting out in the "wash house" on my MIL's farm. They had stored clover seed in it through the years, so it still smells like clover inside. The icebox is now in excellent condition, after I removed the old varnish and cleaned out the inside. It has the original sticker on it on the front, as well as on the inside door. All of the shelves are originial, and the only part that is missing is the pan that held the drippings, that usually sat underneath. Ice box pans were made of metal, so it is very rare to find them. Also, ice boxes are usually found with the legs and bottoms rotting, but ours is in tact.

Love it!!!! My Dad used to tell how they stored things in the ice box in the summer kitchen on the farm. Back in 1930. What a treasure you have.
