Pink Saturday - Praying Ladies

This is a special Pink Saturday for me. My Pink Praying Ladies are being featured on Susan's blog, found at She has a pink lady too, and when I saw it a couple of weeks back, I told her I had a set also. I have 3, I guess that's a set.....Hmmm...never thought of it that way.....anyway.... here's my 3. When I was very young, there were just my sister and I. Baby brother was born MANY years later. Anyway, for Mother's day our family gave these to Grandma Standley as a gift. You know, one for each of us girls. Then, later that year on her birthday, she received the scouring pad holder to match. My grandma however, wouldn't think of actually using them, and they stayed put away. I remember visiting her and looking at them, wishing I could play with them. Years later when it was time to divide up the few things we were given, I crossed my fingers and prayed that I'd get the Pink Ladies in the drawing - and I DID!!!

The two little ones are salt and pepper. Can you see what they say on the front?

As you can see, the tall one is for a scouring pad. Remember what that is?

This is a close up of the front of the big one.

This is a close up of the front of the little ones.

This one is fuzzy because I shook the camera, but this is the back of the little ones.
Here's the back of the large one.

I will show you the ladies one more time, so you don't have to scroll back up. Don't you just LOVE THEM?????

I hope everyone takes a minute to go visit Susan, and leave her a comment telling her that I sent you! She can be found at , or at her Etsy Shop

  1. Sandi, they're beautiful ... and in pristine condition! What treasures you have by which to remember your childhood, your Grandma -- and your good fortune! Looks like the "luck of the draw" was in your favor this time. Thanks so much for sharing your memories and your set with all of us!

  2. I just left Susan's place and saw more pictures. I said there and will say again that I find this set so wonderful and can't believe that I've never seen them before.

I love things from this particular era. I guess they always remind me of my grandmother.

I'm so glad you two shared these.

  3. These are wonderful and I've never seen any like this. They help us remember to be grateful.

  4. What lovely memories and such pretty girls!

    Happy PS!
