I got an electric fireplace in December, and I'm so excited. I love the way it pulls my living room all together. This wall has always waited for a fireplace on it. So this is what I ended up with.
This is what it looked like at Christmas. I actually turn it on every night. It has a heater that can be turned on, and it warms up the room very quickly.

We've looked at the electric fireplaces. This is our first house without a "real" one, and we miss it. We just aren't sure our room is right for one...still thinking about it. Yours is very pretty and must be fun to have!

I'm kind of in the same place as you...have always wanted a fireplace in my living room and finally got it last month! Of course, mine is faux but it still lends so much decor interest to the room!
