I have one pink depression glass cake plate. My DH found it in the dump many, many years ago. That was back in the day when you could take your stuff to the dump yourself, and of course rummage through things (and bring home) what you wanted.
The flowers almost look like sunflowers - hmmmm............

This is part of our front porch/deck. It is on the south side of the house, so doesn't get used this time of year - too hot! We are saving our money to put a room on - kinda like Susan's at BNOP. 
But I had to add a little sign to it - it was just too plain!

My Show and Tell for today is my strip quilt. I made this quilt one year, I believe 1996 when we got snowed in. I couldn't leave the house for 5 days, so decided to get out this fabric and make something. If you've ever heard of a strip quilt, it is SO easy. You just cut your fabric in 4 1/2 inch strips, sew them together side by side, turn the quilt, cut the strips in 4 1/2 " strips, and move them down one block, sew together again, trim the end, sew it on the other end, and it's finished = well except the quilting! 
I used fabrics that I had made my kids clothes from when they were babies, so it's a very memorable quilt too.

This is my favorite bunny. He stays out year 'round. I bought him at a craft fair, the year my son left to go to the Navy. He's over 3' tall, and holds a box of chocolates. There's a card in his right hand (?) that says to Mom on it. It's like he's coming home and bringing Mom a gift! I fell in love with him and cried when I took him home with me. I have a very small collect of Phantom of the Opera items. They are kept in DD#2's bedroom. I also keep my seasonal clothing in that closet, so when I go in there, I look through the below items, play the music boxes, etc. 
I have a poster that is signed by the cast which I received from my BFF.....
One of my favorite parts of the movie is the monkey music box, and I have one just like it.....

This collection was started when I heard the Phantom of the Opera on CD years ago. After that, I was able to see it many, many times - twice on Broadway in New York City. The doll sits on my DD#2's bed down in her room, and totally freaks out a lot of people when they walk in the room! It's fun! 
Mom did a great job of making this dress very special, by adding a bow at the waist, and a lace collar. The buttons add a special touch also.

I have blogged about this shoe before, but I will again for Show and Tell. When I was young, I had a sister 4 years younger than I. When Mom and Dad would dress up to go out on Saturday night, Mom would come out in her pretty dress and a pair of red shoes. We would sit and stare at her and after they would leave - FIGHT over who got to wear the red shoes some day. I was sure that I would get to wear them FIRST, because I was the oldest. However, my sisters feet grew faster than mine and so I was terrified that she would get to wear them first. This became an ongoing joke, and when grown we still would tease each other about them. I was SO excited when my sister's feet were too big for the shoes! Not that either of us ever wore them, by the time our feet were big enough - they were out of style. We grew up, got married and moved away from home and forgot about the shoes. One day I got a package in the mail, and in it was the RIGHT red shoe with a silk flower arrangement in it. Mom had sent me the right shoe - because I am right handed, and my sister the left shoes - because she is left handed. I treasure that shoe to this day, and it's sitting on the dresser in my bedroom as I write this. That's my show and tell. Thanks for stopping by to visit, and please leave a comment if you have time. For my first show and tell Friday, I have to show off my friend Maude! She's all dressed for Halloween! Maude is my dressmakers model that my Mom gave me. I have several of these in different areas of my home, this one is in the sunroom/kitchen area. I try to dress her up according to the season, and have fun doing it! She's not at all like my daughters were when they lived at home - she actually WEARS what I get for her! Ha!
