Three or More Tuesday

This week, it's the world of three or more - butterfly photos. I only have 3 right now, but I'm sure that as time goes on, there will be more! Enjoy!
This is the most recent photo of the three, it was out on our squash plant, and DH came and gout me to take the photo.

This photo was taken at the lake, my Grandson looked out the window of the cabin, and it was on the tree outside. I went out and caught a few photos.

This one hangs above DD#2's bed in her bedroom here at home.

This photo was taken at our neighbor's at the lake a couple of years ago. I have had it enlarged and gave it away several times.

Pink Saturday and hold over til Mosaic Monday!

My favorite pinks are here in their own Mosaic's. The first one is Greta, the second one is Emma - my 2 favorite pinks in the whole world! They were both home to visit on Labor Day weekend. Greta saw her very first horse - close up (maybe too close from the look on her face!) and was happy to search around for a pumpkin in Papa's patch. Emma joined us at the lake house. Tablescape Thursday/It's a Woodsy Theme!

This week I wanted to go a little more outdoorsey but not Christmas like. It took a couple of tries, but I like the way it turned out. The white plates and saucers are from a dumpster dive.

My son's bedroom here at home is in a kind of "cabin" theme, so I borrowed a few things from there. Beside his bed is an old wash stand that holds the above deer and tree - year round.
I had a couple of ways to go, but chose to go with 2 napkin rings of fish.....

which are actually shower curtain rings...... Clearance at Walmart...

and 2 with bears on them. Which just happen to go with the salt and pepper shakers from Grandma's collection that are....fish and bears.

My son and daughter in law gave me these great martini glasses for Christmas, and I LOVE to drink lemon drop martini's in them. They are so elegant and light.

The deer have such an innocent look on their face.

I found this little log cabin for 25 cents at a garage sale. The green tablecloth and red and green napkins you will probably see often.

Outdoor Wednesday - Labor Day 2009

We spent our last big weekend at the lake for this year and it was a dandy. We were surprised when our kids ALL came home at the same time, and enjoyed every minute of our time with the grandchildren and children. Just a few photos of the good time we had, the weather was perfect, cool in the mornings, warming up nicely in the afternoon's and perfect for our annual "brunch on the beach" on Sunday.

Tablescape Thursday and Thrifty Thursday - they go together SO WELL!!

My post this week is in honor of all of the people who work so hard growing their own fruits and vegetables and share them with those of us who don't.

The tablecloth came from Penney's Outlet in KC, many years ago. DD#2, thought I was crazy when I had her pick 2 large tablecloths up, I believe for less than $10 each. One I left the full size, the other one, I took to a seamstress and had it made into a small table cloth, napkins and a runner. I loved them right away, everyone else had to grow into them!

The box in the middle of the table matches the tablecloth exactly, and was $1.00 at the thrift store.

The dishes were found at a different thrift store for $.25 each, the silverware is my standby cheapies, and the blue stemware are the Duz soap glasses from my hope chest.

We got these individual butter knives for a wedding present. There are 4 different veggies, the asparagus above, the carrot below....

I made these in ceramics class when we were first married. They were the very first thing I completed, and I gave them to my grandma for her collection. Then- I got them back, with the whole collection.

Cabbage/lettuce salt and pepper shakers from grandma's collection.

There are green pepper salt and peppers and onions too. The candle holder was made by our son in wood class I believe.

Here's the radish butter knife, and we were having corn on the cob this time, so the corn holders were out too!

The napkins are the ones made out of the left over table cloth, and the napkin rings are wooden. The butter knife is corn on the cob.

This little onion salt shaker has an attitude!

And this one just can't do a THING with her hair!

This corn pitcher is just big enough for a couple of cups of something, don't think I'd ever use it, but it was perfect for this. Grandma made this herself in the nursing home in ceramics.

Outdoor Wednesday in Minnesota

Our DIL, Carla is from Minnesota, and that is where she and our son Jeff became acquainted. He lived in Rochester for 4 years, working as a landscape architect. We went to visit them 4 years ago in the fall and I took the following photos. There were all taken at an arboritum at Rochester.

I wish I'd been there a week earlier, I think there would have been more leaves on the trees
