I'm joining Metamorphosis Monday, courtesy of Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. I'm showing my make over of my Christmas wreath.
I had seen the roses made of felt, but never tried it. I cut the felt the size of a CD, and then cut in a swirl. Using a hot glue gun, I made several (more than 20) roses.
The wreath was very nice when I purchased it, got it at Sam's club for a reasonable price, considering it was live greenery. I removed the dried greenery with wire cutters
When done, I was left with the pine cones, wreath frame, and bow. The cones went into the fire pit for this spring's first bon fire.
The neighbor was trimming trees this morning, and I went over and took some of the "pencil" sized branches which I cut into 7" lengths.
I hot glued them onto the frame, using large ones first, then filling in with smaller branches.
Next, I hot glued the felt roses onto the sticks, following the wreath frame.
Lastly, I atttached the ribbon, and hung it on the door.
I really like the way it turned out! It took longer to cut the sticks and glue them though, than it did to make all the roses.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my make over!
